The games themselves are crossovers between various Nintendo franchises from big ones like Super Mario and The Legend of Zelda, to smaller ones like Ice Climber and Punch-Out, as well as franchises not owned by Nintendo such as Sonic the Hedgehog and Metal Gear Solid. series, created by Masahiro Sakurai, is one of Nintendo's most popular intellectual properties.
